Oceancoll

Our story

Jordi Bosch

Jordi Bosch, Oceancoll CEO & Founder

I never liked soccer; the ocean called me from a very young age, even though my parents’ house was not on the seafront. My passion has always been windsurfing and one of my happiness key indicators is the number of days per year in the water.

Years have gone by.

My time in the water has been limited, first and foremost because I have several positive responsibilities, such as a family, kids, and a food ingredients company. But I have to admit, I am not the youngster that I used to be. Windsurfing is a tough water sport. I broke my feet a few times, I have pains in my knees, shoulders, and ankles, just to name a few body parts. My joints suffer and every time I go on the water, and I always need a couple of days to recover.

I had been eagerly looking for a supplement that could help me with my physical recovery time and destiny was waiting just around the corner. I went through science, and I found what I was looking for. Marine Collagen Peptides and its essential role in ensuring the strength and suppleness of the skin, as well as in the joints, bones and ligaments.

As soon as I knew that hydrolyzed marine collagen would work, I started looking for the best raw materials. My goal became to find the purest, highest quality hydrolyzed marine collagen to make a supplement for people with a lifestyle where optimum health and wellness are priorities.

A dream came true, we would work with sustainable raw materials and we would also be helping people feel better.

The ocean called me.
Oceancoll, for optimum health and sports performance.

Our Philosophy

High Quality Raw materials

High Quality Raw materials

Ocenacoll is produced from wild-caught deep-sea cold water fish We use these sustainably sourced fish in order to prevent exposure to antibiotics or hormones, as occurs with foodstuffs made from farm-raised animals or fish. We select cold-water fish species, as their collagen has a higher content of those essential amino acids that are more easily absorbed by the human body.

We provide premium quality protein, as the health and wellbeing of our clients is our leading priority.

Circular Economy

Circular Economy

Our gelatin and collagen peptide raw material sources are by-products from the fish industry that are suitable for human consumption. The by-products from the production of gelatin and collagen peptides also allow further processing. Therefore, this process contributes to the circular economy and creates value for the community by converting by-products into high quality protein products and reduces our environmental impact.

Renewable Energy Sources

Renewable Energy Sources

Our aim is to ensure zero-emission collagen peptide production while making use of renewable natural energy resources.

We are working to find the best partners that help us in this endeavor.

Science

Science

We believe in Science. Nutritional science and research drive every step of our product development. Our internal R&D Department is staffed by a highly qualified team who are specialized in food technology.

Sustainability

Sustainability

Oceancoll uses deep-sea, wild-caught fish from Sustainable Fisheries to guarantee that our raw material comes from sustainable fishing stocks.

Making sure there are enough fish in the sea to maintain healthy marine populations is a core principle of the sustainable fisheries. This means leaving enough fish in the ocean and respecting their habitats, while ensuring that those who depend on fishing can maintain their livelihoods.

Low Carbon Footprint

Low Carbon Footprint

Wild fish is a low carbon footprint food.

A study of greenhouse gas emissions at wild fisheries found that between 1kg and 5kg of carbon is needed to produce every 1kg of caught wild fish. By comparison, red meat production is estimated to require between 50 and 750 kg of carbon per kilogram of meat.

The production of wild-caught marine collagen peptides has a smaller carbon footprint than beef or animal collagen peptides. Wild-caught marine collagen, for your health and our planet’s health, choose wisely, choose wild.
